Millstream Flowers ORIGINAL PAINTING
This piece was inspired by our drive through the Millstream National Park on the way to George Gorge. The wildflowers were in full bloom and it was the most breathtaking scenery of colour and dramatic cliffs coupled with driving slowly along an extremely bumpy riverbed. We had an interesting time at George Gorge. We got spooked by a sudden onset of hurricane type winds that ripped the pegs out of our camper which we had to hold on to so it didn't blow away (while the kids were screaming inside of it). Then after about 7 minutes the wind stopped and it was completely still. We got spooked and hightailed it out of there, at 5pm, 4 kids unfed and not entirely sure of where to go. Then on the dirt road out to the highway our headlights stopped working so we had to set up in a very random spot on the side of the road, knowing that a large amount of rain was on it's way and mildly concerned we'd set up in a flood plain. At 1am the rain started, then at 3am we began packing up in the rain with kids in the car and waited until it was light enough for us to drive safely without headlights. Goodtimes! The kids thought it was a great adventure. Tom and I thought it was the curse of George Gorge who in my opinion, must not have liked George.
This is an original watercolour + acrylic painting on beautiful Indian handmade paper. It has a medium texture and a decal edge. It measures 21cm x 29.7cm (A4 size)
